Eradication of Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth and Oro-cecal Transit in Diabetics

Aims:

1. 당뇨환자 소장의 세균 과증식(SIBO)의 eradication 효과 평가
2. 장운동 장애에 있어 세균 과 증식의 역할에 대해 규명

Method:

• 환자군: 74명의 당뇨환자 호기가스 검사 실시 후 21명 SIBO 판정 등록
• bloating, diarrhea, SIBO, delayed OCTT(orocecal transit time), 13명 남, 8명 여, mean age 43.7
• 임상디자인: 임상시작 3개월 전부터 prokinetic, antibiotics, metformin, α-glucosidase inhibitor 복용(-), Rifaximin 400mg tid (1200mg/day) x 10days

Results

• GI Sx 10명 -> 3명 (70%개선)
• OCTT 통계적 유의한 감소
